Independent Design provides custom assistance for accessibility issues, including ramps, lifts, restrooms, and kitchens, particularly in historic buildings. We are experts in assessing and solving environmental and building code issues.

Rebecca and James bring over thirty years of design and construction experience with a special focus on historic New England buildings. Their focus is on solving your individual project requirements while maintaining key characteristics of historic or existing structures and drawing from the current building's signature traits to influence new features.

DESIGN

Independent Design is a Massachusetts certified woman owned business ( MA WBE). We focus on providing quality consulting services to building owners and firms working on public projects in addition to private project work. We enjoy the challenge of working in a large team environment.

Our expertise includes Building Information Modeling + Management services, Accessibility & Code Consulting, Programming, and Information Management Services.

We have consulted with large and small design firms to provide BIM training, implementation process, and project-specific support services. Rebecca is an Autodesk certified Revit software trainer, and has presented on BIM best practices nationwide.

As a WBE, we are always interested in partnering with architects, engineers, and public building owners to assist with specific project scope. We have assisted on the MGM Springfield and Wynn Everett Resort Casino projects in Massachusetts in a WBE capacity.
